Just been listening to Jo Whiley ( guru ) and she was talking about 'hair splinters' apparently they are very painfull, small pieces of hair that enter the skin at high speed flying from clippers /scissors etc, didn't think this was possible, but it happens, has any-one had experiennce of this, or any advice how to avoid or deal with these, just heard that some-one elses hair can even take route and grow - yuck yuck

When u have your hair cut and constantly complain about the small pieces of hair causing u 2 fidget , which in turn makes the hair travel further down your back, which causes u 2 fidget more and get hot and bothered, which the hair then sticks to causing it 2 irritate even more (phew) - spare a thought for your hairdresser, who knows the feeling - cos she/he has 2 feel like that day in/day out!!  - so a bigger tip would be much appreciated!! lol!!

Hair splinters are a pain, especially at night when u have had a bath and are just trying to nod off but the sheet keeps brushing against you and causing what feels like an electric shock by an object that no matter how hard u look, u cannot find - until after what feels like hours of searching turns out to be the tiniest piece of cut hair embedded in you!!!

I get them under my nails a lot - which drives me insane. As do the ones in your feet or worse off all in your bra!!!!!

But i fail to see how they could grow!   Cut hair contains no follicle at it's base, therefore it is more likely to have been an ingrown hair than a cut one!!!

Rant over!!!

In Canada we call them hair slivers.  Yes I get them frequently.  very painful.  Get them in my hands, sometimes in my feet, and, I've even had a few in my upper female parts! Now, THAT hurts!!!!
